Cafe Shutters - A Versatile OptionInstalling shutters in your home can give it an appealing look, as well as provide your home with more privacy and protection from the sun. Although many homes these days feature exterior wooden shutters, another option is indoor window shutters such as cafe shutters. Cafe shutters can be very versatile. They traditionally cover the bottom half of the window with louvered or slatted panels that block some of the sun and give residents more privacy. Though best known for being used in many cafes, these are also great for use in kitchens, breakfast rooms, bathrooms, and bedrooms. You can leave them either closed or open, depending on whether or not you want to block the bottom of the window at any given time. Not only can cafe shutters be used on the lower half of windows, they can also be used on the upper half. Some people choose to install them on both the lower and upper parts of their windows so that they have the versatility of having either the top or the bottom open depending on their needs. To add to the look of your windows you can also install a valance above the shutters. If wood shutters are outside your price range, you can also get faux wood shutters. This will be less expensive but give you the same benefits and look as those made of wood. They might not be quite as sturdy, however. You can get these in many different colors and styles, just like the wood options that are a bit pricier. Look into the various options for shutters to see which ones have the look that you want. Vinyl plantation shutters are another option you might want to consider if the cafe shutters are not quite right for your needs. As you can see, you will have a lot of options to choose from if you should decide to get indoor shutters for your home. They will make your home a bit more unique, which could be a good selling point should you eventually decide to move, and will make your home more pleasant in the meantime. |
